Assistant Project Manager

Description

Grondin Nadeau is currently seeking an ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER for specialized projects in electrical and civil engineering (Hydro-Québec). The primary function of this resource is to provide technical and administrative support on construction sites to project managers. The incumbent will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Support project managers in preparing and sending various documents (tender, warranty, end of work, site file, end-of-work catalog, etc.).
  • Prepare, set up, and ensure the functionality of required technologies on construction sites (computer, printer, mobile phone, etc.).
  • Request quotations and place orders with suppliers and subcontractors at the best possible price within the specified deadlines.
  • Provide information related to the preparation of progressive and monetary payment requests by the 20th of each month with all required documents (accident register, list of subcontractors, confirmation of engineers’ work).
  • Ensure that all suppliers and subcontractors provide the requested documents and follow up on the contract.
  • Coordinate mobilizations and demobilizations with project managers.
  • Make assignment requests for external projects.
  • Participate in site meetings with project managers and ensure the timely provision of documents requested by the client in collaboration with the project manager for the next meeting.
  • Approve and verify invoices with the project manager.
  • Receive, classify, distribute, and archive project-related documentation (workshop drawing follow-up, directives, deficiency lists, etc.).
  • Enter employees’ site timesheets (Nomade).
  • Corroborate timesheets with daily follow-ups.
  • Prepare and submit requested documents (timesheets, daily follow-ups, etc.) on platforms used by the client.
  • Scan and file daily follow-ups in the project folder.
  • Produce the list of materials per project, if applicable.
  • Create the list of stakeholders (contracts) and add client and supplier contacts.
  • Any other related tasks.

**General Requirements:**

  • University degree in a related discipline (civil or electrical).
  • Experience in the construction industry (an asset).
  • ASP Construction card and mandatory driver’s license.
  • High mobility to carry out projects on construction sites throughout Quebec.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, analytical mindset.
  • Excellent communication with various stakeholders, proactivity, and teamwork.
  • Very good knowledge of the Office suite (Word, EXCEL, MS Project).
