Grondin Nadeau is looking for an OHS COORDINATOR. The position consists mainly of performing tasks on the site (70%) and in the office (30%) on civil and electrical projects throughout Quebec.

As OHS Manager, the incumbent will
Verify the application of laws, standards, requirements, prevention programs and safe work methods on the worksites

Develop the content of induction sessions for new workers as well as safety breaks and ensure their distribution
Prepare the various health and safety training and prevention tools and distribute them to the employees concerned
Establish the schedule for visits by the various OHS advisors on the work sites
Develop the prevention programs for the various projects
Carry out daily inspections and observations to ensure the safety and health of everyone on the work sites and ensure that the corrective measures from the last inspection are completed
Enforce instructions and all health and safety measures specific to the site
Issue notices of non-compliance and ensure follow-up and implementation of corrective measures in case of deviations issued
Intervene when there is a risk of accident and investigate following any accident or incident
Maintain the various reports, registers of accidents, incidents, close passes and statistics to follow up monthly
Inspect and purchase safety equipment used on the work sites
Produce traffic and signage plans for construction sites
Follow up with the Mutuelle de prévention and the workers
Follow up on exchanges with Hydro-Quebec on the various safety standards, frameworks, etc.
Coordinate the OHS training required to work on Hydro-Québec (HQ) sites
Establish the risk register for tenders and keep it up to date during the work period
Take part in meetings with HQ regarding OHS
Coordinate the OHS hierarchical visits
Act as a resource person for the various stakeholders on site for all questions concerning the application of OHS laws and regulations, safety code for construction work, etc.
Implement the ISO 45000 standard or equivalent in terms of occupational health and safety

General requirements

DEC in occupational health and safety and/or a certificate or attestation recognized by the Commission de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CSST) and/or relevant experience
Experience on construction sites (2 years or more)
ASP Construction card and driver’s license required
High mobility to carry out projects throughout Quebec
Proactivity and teamwork
Ability to show initiative and judgment
Excellent communication with various stakeholders and ability to coordinate various OHS activities
Ability to write reports and other documents
Very good knowledge of the Office suite (Word, EXCEL, PowerPoint, MS Project)
